ROCK PORTRAITS – THE INCHCOLM HOTEL
The Inchcolm hotel and suites in Brisbane required seven original artworks, each representing an icon in music.
The final line-up included David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Debbie Harry, Freddy Mercury, Prince, John Lennon and Yoko Ono – all to be dotted throughout the hallways of the hotel. The brief asked for a combination of hand-drawings, stencil/graffiti effect and collage, using a rich colour palette for the backgrounds. To accompany each icon piece, the client also requested six contemporary abstract pieces, combining elements from the icon pieces in a subtle, yet artistic way.
